Default burning a quart of oil a day!

aight heres my question, the d15b2 in my beater burns a quart of oil a day and it

smokes like if i pull off from a stop sometimes. i was thinking the rings at first but

then i said maybe it could just be the valve stem seals?

Typically bad rings will cause smoke under acceleration and sometimes decelleration, and valve seals will cause smoke under high vacuum, like when decellerating.

If you burn that much oil do you have a prayer to pass emissions (legally)?

p3

(and what technically is leaking, which vacs?) and check for 'regular' leaks too (gaskets, etc)

another thing that puzzles me is when i changed the oil there was obviously more

than 4qts of oil in the motor, because it started to overfill the 15qt. drain pan that i

used!!!

pull your spark plugs to see if there is any oil on the plugs. i have found valve stem seals leaking more than anything.
