ebrake button issue

next week i will installd a new ebrake handle and boot, on my ebrake handle currently, the button is really low, how can it to pop back up?

alot of times the handle/cover on the ebrake slides forward making it seem like the button is low. grab the handle/cover and push it back towards the armrest as far as it will go. as far as tightening your e-brake for "better lockup", search...
