Oil leaking by headgasket?

Oil leaking by headgasket?
There's some oil on the left side, i guess under the vtec solenoid. What could it be? I'm about to retorque my head studs cuz I haven't done it yet since I installed them new. Could that be why? It's only on that side and it's barley any.

Check your distributor O-ring, your vtec solenoid gasket and if none of those it is most likely your cam cap seal.
Those are the 3 big ones on that side of the head.
99% sure it is not from your head studs and if you think you need to re-torque those then you sound like you are unsure if they were torqued right the first time.

Nah your supposed to retorque or atleast check them after a few heat cycles. Checked here and called ARP.
Hum, does Honda sell some type of valve cover gasket kit with the cam seals? I'm might as well do all the valve cover gaskets and grommets.

An eBay gasket kit is fine.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I was searching and read that they aren't fine lol...the valve cover gasket kit is only like $20-30 and the cam seal plug is like 5 bux?

Re: (owner)
What all do you want to replace? My eBay gasket kit worked fine for me. I used a Honda head gasket and manifold gaskets from my dealer, though.

Well for now, just the valve cover gasket kit and the cam seal cap. Already put in a new oem head gasket with arp head studs.

Re: (skUnK2jdm)
when oil shows up there it is almost always the plastic cam cap behind the vtec solenoid..buy a metal one (golden eagle,STR etc...) and you won't have to worry about it again.

Im just saying the factory plastic cam cap is the most common leak from the head on b-series vtec motors...anybody who's worked on them enough knows that, and judging by where the oil is pooling i'd say it was the cam cap, which the OP has not replaced yet
PS;...tell your friend if he replaced every seal on the top end and it still leaks, maybe a mechanic should be doing the work.
