It's cheaper if you remove all the bs first.... they charge by the hour ya know?... Take a few hours out of removing crap....so they can just do their job and it'll be cheaper.

yea, the outer window trim is a bizatch to get at...found the 2 screws, but Stuck there, I heard just sliding it out works, but don't want to break the clips...So I'm just going to leave it in that department....as far as valuables, I don't think they'll take the stock cd player, even though it isnt mounted on and can be pulled right off, there's an anti theft code thing for it and I would hold them liable for that if they took that route, but anyways, I think I've pretty much summed up everything before I bring it in tomorrow, however I could be missing something, so in the words of Jin tha MC, holla at cho boy.....

Where is it getting painted?

If it's Maaco, go out and get some powder Ajax and a hard bristle scrub brush and wash your car with it. Really.

At Maaco they give someone one piece of sandpaper and ten minutes to "rough it up" so it is REALLY worth your time to do it for them.

If it's a reputable place that actually takes pride in their work. Then leave it for them.

rubber door seals, emblems, make sure they dont paint the black grill in your bumpers, take off bumpers and skirts so they can be painted sperate, sunroof glass, rain rail covers, remove windshield wiper cowl, door handles, antenna, windshild trim (top will need to be cut off then glue back on) make sure the vin in your door jam isnt painted over, if u have nice wheels try to get some steelies on it or soemthing u dont care about getting paint on, you should ask them to pull the side rear glass out. should look kinda like this

and finally

i dont realy like the blakc headlights and turn signals but u get the idea on the paint job this took the guy all last winter and quite a bit of money paintjob is flawless! GL

yea if its a maaco go to your local auto place and ask for some ultra fine scotchbrite pads there cheap and easy to use and they get in all the lil corners and cracks n ****. I use them everytime i paint. Also get wax/grease remove to use and wash it really good i wouldve done all this the day prior to ensure no waters drippin from anywhere n also its better to wash it at home so u dont get any type of unwanted deposits on your car that could contaminate the paint job.

How many fake yellow type R's are running around seattle? I have seen 2 of them first hand. One of them the guy tries to pass off as a type R too. But that is a long story.

BTW... any update yet on the paintjob? I wanna know what color. If its just a respray, or a full color change.

damn, somebody painted over a BG-33P Integra

I would say that if anything can be painted OFF the car, do it. Front and rear bumpers DEFINITELY off the car, mirrors, gas door, and hood if you can get them to do it. It would be even better to remove the doors and hatch and paint all those separately, but not totally necessary.
