Running Rich
I did a b16a swap into my 90 CRX DX and it seems to be running rich, when I'm below 3500 rpm its having a tough time, like its bogging out with to much gas. I'm want to try to use a fuel pressure tester, but I dont know how to use it, does anybody have an idea? I might just try to put in my old fuel pressure regulator and see if that fixes it. But I guess rich is better than lean. Anybody got any ideas?
I had the PW0 so I went and bought a PR3 and that didnt do anything, I'm going to chip my PR3 and see if that does anything, but is there anybody with a better idea of what could be wrong?
Are you getting any codes? I'd guess the fuel map is just to rich for this motor, the only way to fix that is to get a chip or computer that adjust the fuel maps to compesate for this.
its throwing a code for knock sensor everyonce and a while, but not that often. I'm going to get a spoon chip vtec- 5500 and 8500 rev limiter. Where could I get the fuel map thing that you were talking about?
There are lots of options out there, the most common and easiest to use would be the V-AFC, or V-AFC 2. That's what I'm running rihgt now, so it's the choice I'm most familiar with. Otherwise there you could run a chip burning program like "Hondata" or one of the other free copies available.

Im sorry but the vafc sucks..All it does is take away fuel,I wouldnt really call it a tuning tool..Since you have pw0/pr3 ecu you should chip the ecu and run a program called BRE on there..And have it street and/or dyno tuned ..Check out http://pgmfi.org and go to the BRE forums ..But before you go that route try and fix your problem now,,because the pw0 shoundnt be running the stock B16a rich,,since thats the perfect ecu for that motor..Something else is wrong..Ill ask again ,,do you have both o2 sensors installed?? Because if you only have one installed with the stock pr3/pw0 ecu it will bog out at around 3000-4000rpm and sometimes run rich..Also get the knocksensor code fixed and see if it helps..

I was blowing a blue/black smoke out of the exhaust, so I switched the wires on the O2 sensors, and that fixed that problem, but it didnt fix the bogging problem. You can hear like there is to much gas going to the engine, and thats whats causing the problem. What could be done to reduce that?
the thing about o2 sensors is they should work the same forward or in reverse wired order, Unless you had the heater wires to the sensor, and the sensor wires to the heater. I would think this would pretty quickly burn out the o2 sensor.

I dont know... all I do know is that I was blowing out alot of black smoke and when I switched the O2 sensor wires it stopped doing that. I'm in the process of chipping my ecu and if that doesnt fix it then I'm going to buy a fuel pressure regulator. And if that doesnt fix it then I'm going to buy a wide O2... anybody got a better idea?

Dont chip your ecu or buy a fpr to cover up the problem ,,thats stupid..You have to fix the problem,,That ecu runs the B16a perfect..You have another problem,,Maybe an injector is stuck open or o2 sensor(s) is bad..Are you getting any other codes..?? Maybe the Map sensor is bad,,WHen theu go bad the motor runs rich and bogs..Check the voltage on it..Mine was at 9 volts and thats way to high so I had to replace it..Maybe your problem,,maybe not..
