Default stock p28 on b16

i'm running a stock p28 on my b16 right now, how much am i missing out on not having it chipped? i would imagine the fuel map and timing curve for the sohc is different from the dohc. not to mention vtec crossover and rev limiter. i have all the bolt ons and i'm wondering if its a waste of time with a stock p28.

Not enough to really hurt the engine, but enough for it to suck,

Send a pm to drdisco69 about getting it chipped.

i had about a 1 second difference in 1/4 times with a p28 ecu vs a p72 ecu for my GSR-EG hatch

makes a difference, especially since your missing out on your top HP with an earlier redline. first time i ran down the track with the p72 i still shifted at about 6.5k.. just got a little faster 1/4 time. then i remembered to shift at 8k... oooweee that was a .6 improvement right there

my one friend has been telling me for almost a year to get a chip, i guess he knew what he was talking about. i'm pretty anxious to get one now. what vtec crossovers and rev limiters do you guys run or suggest for my setup. my bolt ons are in my sig.

the stock b16 settings should be fine.. maybe have it tuned for a more aggressive fuel map and timing. your vtec x-over and redline should be fine. you could probably bump the redline up to 8k, providing you still have power over it.

i know someone with an LS who ran a p72 for a while, and still shifted at 6.5, because LS's just don't make power over that on their cams

Does anyone have stock setups for a B16a. I have the stock a2 in my EM1, and I have a P28 that I just need to chip... I'd like to burn it to stock settings for now and switch it out.

http://www.pgmfi.org has stock codes for most stuff in the ecu definition codes section of the library.
