Default What's this ITR worth?

Looking at a local ITR, I dunno what the average retail value is for Canadian R's these days though. Was hoping to get some idea from you pros here. the one I'm looking at is:

1997 CW, 1 owner, 80000 km's (so ~60k miles?), no rust but some little dings, part of front lip is cracked, windshield has a medium sized crack in it, rims are a little scuffed up. Recently stolen and recovered, had to have a new transmission put in it. Daily driven incl. during winter. Interior condition is good. car is pretty much stock. asking 17.5 CDN. kinda worried that the little theft might have caused unforeseen damage to the internals, also don't want to pay too much if it's not worth it.

any feedback appreciated

Don't buy that car! Just for comparison there is a 97 right now with a clean title, same mileage, and is located in Calgary asking for the same price. I believe the owner works for Honda as well.

I hope you aren't in a rush to purchase.

You should always take a used car to a shop to have it inspected by someone that knows what the F they are doing. While it's there, have the shop perform a compression AND a leakdown test on the motor, that will help save you a lot of money in the long run. I'm serious, don't skip on having that done, it will tell you a lot about the motor in that car.

If the owner gives you any **** about having it inspected, tell him to take a flying expletive in a rolling doughnut.

I tried to Kelly Blue Book it. It wouldn't allow me to get a Private Party value on it, so I went to Suggested Retail. As Excellent condition it came up with $13,665. They also figure in where you are located, And I live in an area where Type R's are highly sought after, so it's possible they are worth more here. ( Bellevue, Washington )

It's the one posted on beyond by Alex. Now that you mention it this does sound to be the same car even though back then there was no mention of it ever being stolen. Of course you said that this happened recently. If you are serious about getting an ITR I would go to BC. They seem to be quite a bit cheaper then the ones in AB. Check out revscene.

Leakdown test?

Any unusual noises coming from the motor or tranny?

Rusted undercarriage?
