Who manufactures it? What company?

 

Honda sells Motor Oil in individual quarts thru their Consumer Chemicals Line, and you often see them in displays. These are manufactured and packaged for Honda Motors. I've yet to determine the Packager.

The dealer bulk oil is another issue. It could be anything from Castrol, to Pennzoil and anything in between, as long as it meets Honda's API service classification of SH.

Well that's two people who say Mobil/Exxon (another forum). I know they used to sell Castrol at the dealer, years ago. For the motor cycles and the cars, but that proves nothing.

 

Huey Honda in St Louis MO still uses Castrol GTX oil. It was great going to them becuase they had a 100K plus club and you got 10% off of any repairs/service they did to your car. The kicker was they were already very competitive to begin with in the first place...

 

it is mobil. then at the dealer they use what they want.

 

How do you know it's mobil Bevis? Where did you find this information Cornholio? Did you get TP for your bung hole?

 

i dont know, ive heard that mobil is in the prebottled stuff. I know that the carquest brand is rebadged valvoline

 

While on the subject, what's the vote on fave oil, anybody?

 

I don't want to know what is your favorite. I want to know what is best (without breaking the bank for an oil change) I use Castrol GTX now, but I'm thinking about a switch. Synthetic maybe.

 

i remember seeing mobil logos the last time i was over at the parts department...

and castrol GTX high milege FTW!

 

exxon mobil manufactures the honda oil. i know this because i work for a honda dealer's service department.

 

mobil 1 for synthetic and castrol gtx for non-synthetic

 

What about Castrol Syntec? It's the one that has Honda on the label. I was all set to get the Mobil 1. Then I see Honda on the Syntec label, and not on the Mobil 1 label. Still haven't made up my mind.
