Hidden Performance Parts
I just bought a d16y8, and I pulled the valve cover and the timing cover, and guess what...? AEM Adjustable Camgear (set at zero), and it looks like the engine has an after market billet fuel rail and throttle body... anyone heard of a brand called IPT??? This name is on the fuel rail and tb... These may be good performance parts that the wrecker didn't know about...
(God I hope the engine is okay)
Cheers

Dont quote me on it, but im 99.9% sure IPT is just stock stuff that is made for OEM honda parts. I seem to remember seeing it somewhere on my car, but cant remember if it was the fuel rail or the tbody or both

IPT is a stock fuel rail.. It looks all afermarket cause its prolly the shiniest part on the engine. hehe.
oh well, at least you got a cam gear. It does have AEM on it right?

Yes, it does have AEM on it, and if the engine runs like a dog, it has a full four month warranty...
The engine was originally installed in a later civic cx, then the guy wrote it off right after he got it in, then a dude like me bought it and tried to put it in an 89 civic but couldn't do the wiring and returned it... that was days before I got it

Thanks for the help guys...
To tell you all the truth, I think it's better that the rail and tb are stock, because it may have been "bagged on" indeed... btw, the wrecker told me the compression reads 175 psi on all cylinders even, and he has ran it before, so I'm not too worried (famous last words, knock on wood.)
Thanks again...
