b18c1 to type r spec?
without the tranny n port n polish job
how mcuh hp would that be? given that i has all type r internals, ie pistons, valve springs, cams, intake manifold....etc...
n how mcuh, i guess he's looking for used parts

http://www.modacar.com used to have a type R conversion package for a b18c1 butI can't seem to find it on their website, if you call them they will probably still have that package in stock, sorry I couldn't help more

A friend of mine Type R' ed his B18C1, of course with legit parts!
He has the complete ITR valvetrain, pistons, oil squirters, headgasket, crankshaft, and tranny. He kept the GSR's intake and head for it's increased low and midrange torque. With the this setup the motor will run almost 12 points compression so he added another headgasket to lower it and runs a chipped OBD1 ECU.

what if i just get itr valvetrain, pistons, cams, tb, headgasket, polish intake manifold, how much power will i get approximatly?
my friend alreayd has cai, 421 header, catback

fack type r conversion. that's gay!!!!!!! do something else something better i hate people that have a ls gsr whatever i want a type r!!! i know i'll put a bunch of these parts in and make it a type r don't disgrace the name type r it's a rare piece of machine atleast here in the states so tell your friend to make his car better so he can beat those cocky type r owners sorry to non cocky type r owners
he just want more power, n he doesn't have lots of cash to spend
what oh i mean is he can afford to change to type r spec
but nothing like a turbo/sc or aftermarket cams/valvetrain, things like that

Here is my perspective on your friend's issue...
Doing a complete Type R conversion (properly mind you) is going to cost pretty big money. The first thing I would do is look to spend some money on tuning. Get a VAFC, Cam gears, do basic tune-up stuff and hit the dyno.
My B18C1 baselined at 140whp with basic bolt ons. With a few mionor changes to fuel and timing we were able to get 150whp.
If you really want to change parts there are 3 places to look for power on that motor:
1)Cams
2)Manifold (skunk)
3)Compression (headgasket, pistons, shave)
If you are on a budget I would look into #1 and #3. Find a pair of used CTR cams for $300 (that's what I paid for mine). Pull the head and take it to a machine shop and have it tanked, valve job, and shaved .040". Put it back together with a thin headgasket ($130) and the new cams. Hit the dyno.
If you do the manifold you'll need a new ECU program also.
cams = $300
gasket = $130
manifold = $300
ecu = $200
machine work = $500
cam gears = $300
VAFC = $300
You can see that even the most basic conversion is expensive.
One more point here.... Whatever you do, keep the GSR rocker arms! They have a mor agressive ratio than the ITR/B16, so you'll end up getting slightly more out of a cam.
Good luck.
Thanks LunEG!
