Default JDM SiR tie rod replacement

Hey everyone. The time has come to replace an OEM part on my JDM CR-X SiR. The front left inner tie rod needs replacing, and is proving to be an issue. The part that was ordered turned out to be about 1/2 to 3/4inch too long. The threads aren't the problem, but the overall length, as the jam nut won't go on. Cutting it isn't a good idea, so I have to somehow find a part that fits. From the threaded piece coming out of the ball joint to the other end is 7inches, and that's, as I said, about a half inch too long.

Does anyone know where I can find the proper part for my car? Should the USDM piece be the same, and I ordered the wrong piece? Does something else in the Honda/Acura line fit?

I've tried looking at the 90-93 Integra piece, but it's too long, the USDM Si is apparently the same as the Euro-spec VT, and it's too long too. Nobody at Honda knows anything, and nobody I've called has a clue.

Can someone please help me out?

Default Re: JDM SiR tie rod replacement (jdmgraeme)

you will need the siR tie rod. usdm ones are longer, try contacting a european honda dealership, or online parts supplier and order from there.

it was discussed briefly here

hope it helps.
