Default wiring conversion issues.

i have a 91 crx si and i have a 99 gsr going in to it and i am having trouble deciding what to do as far as converting the wiring. i have a p72 and everything that goes with that engine. do you guys think that i should change the car from obd0 to obd2 (i know that this is harder). or change the motor from obd2 to obd1? and if i do the obd2 to obd1 is all that i need is :

the p28 ?
conversion harness..... is it obd2a to obd1 or obd2b to obd1

is that really all i need to do ? also this is the cheaper of the 2 to do right ?

You can run that motor how it is with an obd1 ecu..Just eliminate the crank sensor on the motor and consider it obd1..If I were you I would convert the car to obd1 and run a obd1 p72 if you still have the butterflies..If you have a single plenum manifold I would get a chipped p28 ecu..

But to convert your to obd2.? I dont know how to do that at all so I cant say..

The P72 (if came with the 99) would be OBD2-b. There are conversion harnesses for that, but it will require more wiring, etc.

I would recommend just getting a p72 OBD1 ECU, or an OBD1 P30 or OBD1 P28 (chipped) if not using butter flies.
You need to make sure the ECU's are OBD1 as the labels, "p72, pr3" don't all the time clairify if it is OBD0,1,2a,2b.

So, OBD1 ECU, conversion harness from OBD0-OBD1

You can buy one those obd0-obd1 conversion kits and distributor adapters from a place like rywire.com ,obd1 ecu and 4 wire o2 sensor..and if you're good with wiring you can do it yourself instead of buying a conversion harness, then add the wires for vtec and Iab's..https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

actually, 99 integra ecu's are obd2a. They weren't obd2b until 00, for integras that is.

OBD has nothing to do with the motor itself, it has to do with the ecu. The only difference is the shape of the harness plugs on obd2 vehicles.

You have a few options:

run an aftermarket intake manifold and use a PR3/PW0 OBD0 ecu. You will also need an obd0 distributor
or
run an obd0 to obd1 adapter harness w/ obd1 p72 ecu. Use an obd1/2 distributor. You will also need to run a 4 wire o2 sensor.
or
run an obd0 to obd1 adapter harness w/ obd1 p28 ecu. Run an aftermarket intake manifold. Use an obd1/2 distributor. You will also need to run a 4 wire o2 sensor.
