Default analog/Digital signal

I am trying to build an analog to digital convert so i can read my rpms, on a screen with actual numbers, not just a needle.

So my first questoin is: what signal is coming out of a 94 integra ecu, is it digital or is it analog?

The second question is does anyone have a vafc circuit diagram, or a circuit diagram for a analog to digital converter?

Thanks

I will put this up when I am finished so everyone can add custom made digital gauges to their cars.

in your car the CKP coil pickup inside your distributor detects engine speed, it sends an analog signal to ecu where it is converted to digital. A Schmitt tigger is an electronic circuit which converts an signal to dig or vice versa.

So the signal that is going to the stock gauges in my car is a digital signal?
