Hey guys, got a question about a noise I've been getting from my car.

I've got a '97 Civic EX, with a 4-cyl 1.6 liter VTEC. I'm getting a constant whistling noise from somewhere under the hood every time I push the accelerator down to a certain position... about half way down. Anywhere above or below that point, there's no whistling. Anybody have a clue as to what's causing it? Any help is appreciated.

 

did you recently install or do anything to your intake?

 

No, I haven't done a thing to it since I bought it last May. I was told it was nothing to worry about, so I haven't acted upon it until now. I was told it might be the throttle body, and that I should loosen the idle screw. Sound reasonable?

 

could be, i personally dont know about the throttle body too much, but i know if you have an aftermarket intake it would do that, did the car come with one?
