does anyone know how to make ur vtec sound loud but also be reliable?? my friends says ground the vtec wire to the chassie or the block, rite now i have it on the block but i dont know and if theres another way will vtec kick hardeR??

 

Hmm, never seen or heard anything like that before. Why do you want it to sound louder? i/h/e will gain few hp and make your car sound louder if that's what you actually want.

My friend and I have always joked about hooking vTak up to the radio....

 

Take off your exhaust Manifold, you'll get all manner of screaming louder

 

hook up a bullhorn or PA system to the intake.

I don't know who it is that starts the rumor/idea that a wire can alter the sound of an engine, or that by using a different solenoid you can somehow magically change the physical properties of the VTEC lobe on camshafts (and thus make VTEC "kick harder"), but whoever it is needs to have "STUPID" stamped to their forehead.

Seriously though... The only basic stuff you can do is i/h/e, which do NOT actually make the VTEC "kick harder" or become louder. The OEM i/h/e is just good at surpressing sound. The sound coming from inside of the engine is just the same... you'll just have less things blocking the sound.

the only way the vtec switchover point would be louder is if your high rpm cam lobe is much different than the low rpm cam lobe. I know the j30a in the 6th gen accord has a very audible switchover point if you put an aftermarket intake on it (stock intake has resonators all over it to quiet that motor down) the integra type r has a pritty audible switchover as well. There is no way to make it more audible than it is with an aftermarket intake other than getting new cams

you could always ground the switch to an A-rabs nuts to get a nice high-pitched "LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!!!!"

First you have to ground your VTEC wire to your muffler belt, then tighten the lugnuts on the carb. Who are these proplr and what planet do they come from ? Iowa?
