Default AHHHHHHHHHH F'in Alarm driving me crazy.

Just purchased a 98 Integra.

The alarm(aftermarket) no matter what always set after about a minute NO MATTER WHAT.

Its owning me. So everytime I'm working on my car I forget and open the door and it geos off. Is there some way to turn it off, is it wired right. My brother said there usually a timer on the alarm. So i followed the wires to under my steering wheel, AHHHH I found black box with a little white dail. I guess its to adjust the timing of how long before it sets, do I turn it a certain way so it goes off? Well when I want it off, I WANT IT OFF. Not to trun on in a minute, two or even an Hour. I want it OFF.

Help!!!!!!!!!!

Im about to rip the **** out of it and f'n throw it against the wall.

Not Electrically Inclinded.

you can see if you can find the instruction manual online if you know what brand of alarm it is. otherwise i would try a few car audio shops and see if they can change the programing.

that little dial you are talking about is probably the shock sensor

viper is made by DEI which is very common, you should be able to go most car audio shops and they can reprogram it for you

i would just take it to store that deals with DEI alarms. any best buy, circuit city, good guys, cartoys, small car audio shops, etc etc can mess with it. personally, i would just upgrade to a 2way alarm system. i'm running a compustar.

http://www.compustar.com i mess with mine so much i keep frying the brain. hahaha. but they always give me a new one under warantee

do u hav a valet button? For my viper alarm, all I had to do is turn the key to the on position then off while holding the button and automatically my alarm goes off. When I had my clifford alarm, I press a side button twice on the remote and the main button once. See if you can find a manual for the model of your alarm to figure out how to disable it. Worst comes to worst, see if you can unplug the battery, leave it unplugged for about 10 mins, plug the battery back in and normally the alarm deactivates.
