i'm confussed about my del sol
ok, i want to know what the car started out as. i bought the car 9 months ago, last weekend i discovered that it is sohc vtec d16z6, it has non-vtec value cover, P08 ECU not chiped i took the cover off, can not see anything, my dash read 6500 redline, i thought that sohc vtec read 7000.
So was my car non-vtec then someone changed the engine?
Or is my car vtec and someone changed the value cover, ECU, and gauges?
my engine harness look complet vtec wires look stock. i don't know how i would tell what the car had to begin with, i'm going to get the right ecu get the vtec working, i just wonder what happened

i think that some one just put a 93 d16z6 because that valve cover does not say vtec. but the computer is supposed to be a p28. a 6500 redline is from a del sol s maybe this link will help you http://www.teamdelsol.com/technical/faq/
check your vin # after its says JHM if it says
EG1 = s
EH6 = si
EG2 = vtec

93 Si didn't come with a valve cover that says VTEC.
Even the del Sol S has a 7k redline. Check the engine and look at the engine stamp on the block. to the left of the header, right by the transmission.

P08 is a jdm d15b vtec ecu. A vtec ecu on a non vtec equipped car should throw cel 22 and rev limit at the vtec crossover point (5500 on the p08) - this is all from my experience with trying this, by the way.
