Default rim width on a 4th gen?

alright, im looking into some rim options but everything i like seem to be 16x7-16x9. i found some volks that i really want but they are 16x8 in the front and 16x9 in the rear. is that too wide? would the work or will it rub to much and take away from the steering capabilities? i also found another set of enkeis that i like a lot but they are 16x7 in the front and 16x8 in the rear....
any info would help... thanks

i don't think a 16x9 would be too wise, but i mean its the rear so it kinda doesn't matter

i have had 16x7 all around before and my car was slammed and i had a tiny bit of rubbing. so 16x8 wouldnt be a problem in the front?

8" is the max you can go on rim size.

i've never seen anyone run anything more in the front, and putting anything more in the rear makes no sense.

I have 16x7 and they work great. A friend of mine had 17x8 and they rubbed sometimes ... 9 inch wide is pretty big ...

the only reason i would have anything bigger is because thats the only way i can find them sold. would 9" even fit in the rear? do you think your friends 17x8 rims rubbed because they were 8 inches wide or because the were 17"?

i can get 225's on my 16x7. you can probably get up to 245 on 8 inch wide wheel.
