wierd gas leak from carbon can
Today in auto class we were messin around with my idler on my 87 crx HF and when we finished there, i found a huge gas leak from the carbon can...i was told gas is not supposed to even go in there let alone leak from it...does anyone know why this is leakin gas? it doesnt do it when it runs, only when its off...please help
you mean the charcoal canister, it absorbs leftover fuel fumes i believe, i dont know why there would be so much gas in it though
i can't answer your question but i'd like to know as well because i removed my charcoal canister on my 91 HF and left the line hanging there unplugged for the gas tank vent and it drips gas onto my rear cross member, i don't get it.

when it gets hot outside the gas expands. this driping gas is tghis expanson. also any gas left in the IM or vapers will ge absorbed to the charcole can. if your driping gas check that your purge valve os operating propaly. or just put the vacume line that goes to it to the IM to clean it out.
ok, forget wat i just said about the IM, im a dumbass..dunno what i was thinking..anywho is happend again today, jst comes pourin right out of the charcoal canister and idles very low right before this happens..could someone point out to me where the return line is? is it the hose coming off the bottom of the can?
