pretty simple question. is the rear bumper on a 00 hatch the same as a 00 coupe? some dumb **** decided to hit my bumper and crack it while i was at work

 

is it the same for all 96-00 too??? i'd like to know the same thing.....

i think no on the hatch coupe compatibility...but i'd like to know also

btw coupe & 4 door are interchangeable & hatch is not.... did anyone ever notice or look at a picture of the hatch compared to coupe...its pretty damn obvious

I don't think they're the same, but I'm just imagining it in my head. I think the coupe's bumper sticks out more than the hatch's bumper and it won't match up with the trunk/hatch correctly.

err stupid me. ok so ive come to the conclusion that 96-98 and 99-00 bumpers are interchangeable but NOT the same. the 99-00 have a "lip" if you will, at the bottom. but heres the thing. it wont matter if i slap on a ctr style rear lip would it? would look exactly the same as a 99-00 rear bumper?

 

the rear bumpers vary between:

96-98 vs. 99-00

hatch vs. coupe/sedan

so in other words... 99-00 rear lips wont fit 96-98 bumpers without modification...

in case you are wondering, there are write ups on making the lips fit in archives

 

^^ ugh thanks for the info. the thing is i already have a rear lip for the 99-00 rear bumper thats waiting for paint. since that happend i was just going to get a new bumper and have them painted at the same time. i dont really want to buy another lip
