Removing Key Cylinder from Steering Lock Assy.
Does anyone know how to properly remove the key cylinder from the lock assembly? I want to swap my old key cylinder in to the new assembly since theives destroyed the old steering lock. I won't have to have the other cylinders re-keyed and can use the same key this way. 93' Civic.
Thankfully, my car was recovered 4 hours after I reported it missing and three 18 year olds were arrested for the little chop shop they were running.
Thanks for any advice.

carve some grooves into the rivets on top of the bracket holding the lock assembly in. then unscrew it like a regular flat head screw.
Most lock cylinders are removed by turning ign. switch to acc. or ign. and, using a pick, [sharp pointy thing] to "push" in, through a small hole in the cylinder housing, a "lock tab" allowing you to release the cylinder and remove it
Sorry I do not have instructions for a 93 Civic, and on the 96-98 Civics the whole assembly must be replaced, [according to Haynes]
