Default Will pay $5 for help: Vehicle speed sensor(VSS)

I will paypal $5 to anyone that can help me out.
This is really bugging me. My car a 97 prelude is throwing code 17 for VSS. but the stupid thing is that, everything still works, the speedo, tach everything works. nothing is wrong it does not jump or anything. I took the VSS out today to inspect it and everything was fine. there is no damage to the plug at all and the sensor looks good. I can not figure this out. The only modification that I have in my car that might cause a Code 17 is my Vafc. have anyone heard of a VAFC causing the ecu to throw a code 17. I need help so I can pass emssion on my car.

Did you splice the ecu harness or have a plug-n-play adaptor for that VAFC? If you spliced, maybe there's some wiring loose, I'd check that first...

Try and unplug your battery for about 5 minutes or so and see if it resets that.

I splice the wires. I solider it, and wrapped it with electrical tapes Yeah I know I should of heat shrink it. I looked at the ECU today and all the wires and pins looks good. nothing is lose and everything is covered up. and yes I try resetting the ECU. at first it would stay off for like 2 days now it comes back in less than 1 miles.

Check the rings on the axles, check if there is any missing, and the rear too.

Well sort of, like the rings might be missing a groove in it, or is popped out like you said, look at the ring like spin the axle both, and look for any missing teeth, and the rear i don't know how the rear abs vss are but check those too. And check if they are really dirty.

Those rings are only for the Anti lock brakes. Dont look at that. Cut the one wire that goes on the vafc. The speed sensor wire. Maybe the vafc is malfunctionin (how ever you spell that). Try that for awhile and see wat happens.
