Default Will This amp work?

I looked at the Crutchfield advisor but I am still unsure of what amp to use to power my setup. My buddy tells me I need a larger amp then I was going to buy. I was going to order the KX650.4 by Kicker to power 2 CompVR 10" Kicker subs. I would bridge it to 2 channel and get the 325 x 2 RMS. He is telling me I need more power than that because of the dual Voice coil. Could you please advise me on what I need. Thanks

Your friend is an idiot. Whether a sub is dvc or not has nothing to do with power.

From what I've researched on those subs 325rms is enough a piece, but why buy a 4 channel amp to do a sub amp's job?

that one bridged is 325 x 2 at 4 ohm. The other kicker amp is was looking at was 295 x 2 at 4ohm for the 2 channel amp. Just seemed I could get a little more power from the 4 channel if I bridged it

Are you looking at the same series amps and are you sure you have your numbers right?

Usually when you bridge a 4 channel amp you can ___x2@2ohms not 4ohms

As got_no_sol mentioned, why use a 4ch amp?
You would be better off with a mono sub amp. like a SX650.1 650W rms into 2 ohms, a SX1250.1 625W rms into 2 ohms, [1250W into 1 ohm], or the ZX750.1 750W rms into 2 ohms, that is of coarse if you have the CVR10 2ohm DVC. 94

the SX series amps are insanely priced, which KX series amp would you reccomend to power the 2 CVR10s, I could get the 2 ohms since I havnt ordered yet. I was looking at the KX850.2 also.

The older KX series amps I would recommend would be the KX600.1 or the KX1200.1 both are 600W rms into 2 ohms, so you would use the CVR10 DVC 2 ohm subs, the KX850.2 is 1 X 850W rms into 4 ohms, you would use the DVC 4 ohm subs. 94

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by VisPreludeVtec &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">so I broke down and went with the SX 600x2, that was the suggested amp from a couple dif sites. found it brand new for 400 shipped. didn't end up being that bad. </TD></TR></TABLE> Then get the CVR10 DVC 4 ohm subs, wire the VCs in series = 8 ohms then wire the speakers in parallel = 4 ohms bridge the amp into mono and it will make 600W rms into a 4 ohm load. 94
