-itr/ctr cams

i am thinking of selling my zex kit and buying some cams instead, i am really interested in the comp cams(i get a good deal) the adv duration of the cam i am looking at is; intake 292/exhaust 296, the cams are gonna be going in a ls/vtec with pr3 pistons(11.2:1) will i also need adj. cam gears and dyno time right away?

These are all at 1mm, not the advertised duration, so are a more realistic approach to cams.

Check out the R forum as well. Some of the biggest gear heads in the tuning business hang there.

thanks man, good info, does duration @ 0.050" compare to 1mm? sorry i'm an old domestic fan, and i can't think right now. also any info on comp cams? good or bad?

edit: actually i looked, so the comp cams i am looking at are comparable to the skunk2 stage 1's, based on duration @ 0.050, there both aprox 250lift. i was under the impression that those cams were fairly tame?
