Default What components are you running in the front? (Size Question)

So I purchased a car and the previous owner put some 6.5 Alpine coaxials in the back, they didnt fit. It's about 4-5 inches long and tried installing them in the fronts for a test fit, turns out they were too big and will touch the glass of the window if I jammed them in there.

I really wanted to run some Type R's. What component speakers are you guys running? I wanted a 1 piece speaker, no seperate tweeters. Is there an adaptor I can use to fulsh out the speakers?

I'm planning to get some speakers for the back also.

You would have to use speaker spacers, normally made out of mdf wood or something, or you can cu tthe stock speaker bracket in the back to get more room, it'll give you a few more inches.

Those Q forms are cool, I plan on getting some, but from what I've seen, they dont have mounts. They just sit there. That sucks and it's kind of dangerous.

Alpine Type R coax's and components both come with Honda spacers. Find a local Alpine shop see if they'll kick you one, should be free if it's just lying around, maybe 5 bucks...

Type R's sound like poo.

I run boston components, but if you're for a great sounding component set, I would recommend finding a local diamond audio dealer and listening to some D661s's for the exact same price as the r's.

You can make anything fit with time

You need to check your prices you shouldn't be paying more than 250 for a new set of alpine R seperates, or 150 for alpine R coax's

Hell I bet that's what Crutchfield sell em for

Edit... It's a good coax for the money 150 from the Crutch and it will come with adaptors you can use.

I have Rainbow contour series. The magnet is on the same side as the speaker cone, making them very shallow. The sound is very good as well.

Yeah, Rainbow makes a good product. A buddy of mine has a higher end Rainbow component set. His is a 3 way Mid Bass/Mid/Tweet. His setup is very sweet, in the front doors, fiberglass pods.

Basically, with enough time, creativity and money anything can be mounted anywhere. I think 6.5's will fit in the front doors with minimal work.

i picked up the kick panels you still have to mount them with hardware provided and cut for the speakers. i think you might have to custimize it to fit 6.5 speakers. im putting in the polk mmc 5250 that i got of ebay for around 150 new
