Default noob question

I want to replace my blown speakers in my 95 integra LS. I don't want to buy anything fancy, just a set of decent speakers that will produce decent bass, and handle a little abuse, i'm not talkin subs or amps or anything like that. How do I find what speaker size i need to buy? is there a specific size the car takes or what? thanks!

crutchfield.com is pretty usefull for finding speakers. if you put your car, you will have the option to filter out all the speakers that dont fit, but kinda pricey, so its a good place to start

The size of speakers you need is standard 6.5" speakers. You can also use a over-sized 6.5" speakers with slight modification.

I was looking at Sony's 8x9 if i remember correctly, so that would be too big and wouldn't fit?

Never heard of an 8x9, there are 6x9s, 5x7s, 6x8s even 4x10s.

Your car takes a standard 6.5" in the doors and either standard 6.5", [hatch] or 6x9s in the rear, [4 door sedan].

Some came with a 5.25" in the doors, although a standard 6.5" would also fit, mounting hole diameter is 5" and mounting depth is 2".

Mounting depth can be increased up to 3" with the use of depth reducer, [spacer] and cutting a hole in the back of the OEM speaker housing, a spacer/adapter can also be used to increase mounting hole diameter for over-sized 6.5" speakers.
In the rear of the hatch mounting depth is less of an issue, but a standard 6.5" is needed, although up to an 8" can be installed by replacing the stock speaker housing with a custom one, [up to a 7" can be installed in the doors by replacing the stock speaker housing].

There are more then a few manufacturers that make standard 6.5" speakers, including Eclipse and Infinity. 94
