Default shift linkage pin replacement

i have a 89 crx hf with b-series swap and im putting a hasport shift linkage on today.

however, the pin that holds the "swiveling"(sp) part to that actual trans is kinda flattend out so i plan on drilling it out. when i do this to replace it could i just put like an equal sized bolt through to hold it together? if not what else would work to hold it in place so i dont have to worry about it?

thanks in advanced,
jake

why drill it out. get a hammer, and a metal punch and just hit it through. trust me it will come out and then you can reuse it.

Do you have a picture of that? I would like to see it and maybe make one for my air hammer.

I'll take a pic when i bring my cam to work. But what i did was grind down one of my chisel bits to the size of that roll pin using a bench grinder.

mine never wanted to come out till I drove around and crawled under the dangerously hot car and then wailed at it with Mr. Sledge and a punch.

These are the good times, enjoy.

I lost the pin to my shift linkage one time, and I went to Ace Hardware and they had a similar part. I'm pretty sure it's just a tension pin? Something like that, but it was just a pin w/slot, it was the exact same size, but a too long. Nothing a hacksaw/Dremel can't fix.
