Default question about new headlights..

what is the best way to get a better out put on my headlights. I am willing to get HID's, but people say that they don't work blah blah.. and people said not to get those angel eyes because you can't see with them. So, what should i do.. i'd like to get as much light output as i can.

the best option would be for u to search the hundreds of other options ppl chose to do...
i'm new to this site but i'm sure there are plenty of threads explaining what a retrofit is, costs, consists of etc...

http://www.hidplanet.com

And if you search for HID in the accord forum under archived content it will turn up plenty.

Accordselux has a set on his 6th gen, so you might want to talk to him.

i apologize for coming off as a dick, but when someone asks such a basic question, that is a clear sign of one who did not search...
and b/c i have one post means nothing except that i have one post...

but yea, forgetting about that....i'm still finding my way around this site but i've managed to find https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 which ppl have posted their setups...so u can check that out and get a hint of what other ppl have done

retrofit:

Taking OEM parts (from a high end car equipped with HID)

components: Projectors. Bulbs. Ballasts.

Retrofitting these into your headlights (hacking them up, properly installing them with concerns for proper aim).

Using aftermarket projector headlights with HIDs are usually a no no since their output is not as good as stock and they will not have the same clean cutoff of a true HID projector retrofit.

A complete set of projectors, ballasts and bulbs should run you 3-400 dollars (a complete new kit is available from the hidplanet.com store).

A new set of headlights will cost you 100-200.

If you do not do it yourself (which I recommend if you do not feel competent, then you wont have a ghetto retrofit or ruin a good set of headlights. Using customlightz.com, which has some good work behind them, it should cost you between 300-500 for a complete retrofit.

This at worst will cost you 1100 dollars and at best 700. It may seem like a lot but if you look at the comparison pics between crap hid 'kits', stock light output, and a true HID retrofit, youd see the value in this.

thank you for explaining that to me. That seems like a good way to go if i do change my head lights. Are there any bulbs that are brighter that will fit in the stock head lights or the angel eyes? I don't really get how light bulbs work other than they are measured in kelvins

if your bulbs are 9005 or 9006, you can use HiR headlights. I did a comparison thread a while back (search archives under 'accordselux' as creator), I use them in my headlights right now and I am very impressed with their performance over stock (I did a 9005 conversion, isnt difficult), and they're SAE/DOT approved unlike retrofits, no matter how high quality they may be.

Otherwise your best bet woudl be sylvania silverstars but I think the HiRs are better performers than silverstars.

Don't fall for high wattage or tinted bulbs. Bulbs that run 85w in your stock 55w harness will fry it eventually. And 'HID' bulbs are just tinted blue=less output.

most likely not. You can get away with some cars that have HID as an option, and you probably wont get pulled over if there's no glare, but you're still illegal for the most part.
