Default Jun/Crower/etc... Stroker kits

Ok, I can either get a b16a1 for 800 bucks for basically everything and then later on get a stroker kit from Jun or Crower for about 2200.... I'd have Vtec and 2.0L out of the b16a1, plus I'd have alot of aftermarket support. Or I could go b20b/z for 800 just for long block, i.e. no tranny, axles, shift linkage...do a crvtec conversion not have as much after market support and then have a 'lil bit less that 2.0L Vtec... Any suggestions?

And does anyone have any experience with a stroker kit of any kind, whether they hold up well or bend like butter...

because the b16 head on the b20 block causes less displacement. I'm not sure exactly how much... but you can go look if you'd like at http://www.crvtec.com

Hm, you sure you're not thinking of a B16a crank in a B20 block? The difference in the volume of the heads is only 2.3cc (B20 = 45cc, B16a = 42.7cc). This is probably not enough to even be noticeable. The cranks, on the other hand, give sizeable displacement differences (1707cc for a B16a crank/B20b block). Check out http://www.crvtec.com/index.php?section=crankshaft.

Ok, don't you have to change the crank if you are doing a crvtec conversion?

no, you can leave the bottom end stock. That's what I'm figuring on doing. I need some good low end torque for autocross and I don't need to rev higher that 7500 to 8000 so leave the bottom end alone.

I currently have a b16a and I figure a b20vtec is a better more reliable investment than a turbo or supercharger for my b16.
