Default Another good Arai customer service solution

Well I baught an Arai RX-7 Matsudo helmet off of ebay. Well after 8 months or so I was changing my shield and the right side pod came off and broke. Well I have no warranty on the helmet because I didn't buy it from a dealer.

Well I emailed Arai and told them what happened. They had a posted sign up saying they were away from the office for a few days wont get back till the 22nd and it will be about a week to two weeks before they can view the claims. So I sent the email and 2 days later they sent one back saying they will send me a new right side pod. I was like wow, they were so fast in responding and i don't even have the warranty on it but they are still replacing the part.

So anyway I am even more happy with my Arai helmet and the customer service they provide. Very good company. I guess you get what you pay for.

I have not had to deal with their customer service yet *knocks on wood*, but my buddy has and they resolved the situation quickly. Stories like this will make my buy another Arai when I need it.

Arai's customer service is tops. It kinda justifies the cost of their helmet, since they are so willing to stand behind their product.

It kinda sucks that those pods break so often for people though You would think that paying mad $$$ for the helmet, that it would be a little better, oh well at least they fix it for free.

The visor change alone scares the crap out of me. I've resorted to keeping a tinted shield on one helmet and a clear one on my other Arai, just so I don't have to change out the shield.

No doubt it's a fast system. It just takes me about two minutes to realize I didn't break any parts. And a minute to recover from the heart-attack.

haha yeah its deff a very good and fast system to switch visors. i actually had my helmet for 8 months with just the tinted visor. cause i didnt know how to take it off, then i saw a video from arai's website on how to take it off seemed real easy. i was able to take the shield off and put the non tinted one on perfectly. then i went to put the tinted one back on and i broke the pod lol. looks like i wont be changing shields unless i have too.

Check this out if you havent. There is a pretty good video on how to take the visor off.

http://www.araiamericas.com/FAQ.html

or go here for a direct link
http://www.araiamericas.com/fullface_Small.wmv

Then go to the last option about taking the shield off. A new window comes up and you can watch different videos about it. I found it informative. Nevertheless, I still managed to break it lol

The one titled "GP Racer."

KRJR is in it too. The video kinda repeats itself.

Great links! Thanks. Now to practice in front of a mirror...with a friend's helmet.

I've had the same experience with Arai except mine was just general questions about the helmet. Their service is top notch and I will buy nothing but Arai helmets in the future.
