help, DSM question
My friend wants to buy a 95 talon tsi awd, minor mods, turbo timer, boost gauge, suspension, intake, etc.
And the guy selling the car says its 14 lbs of boost stock, i think that sounds ridiculous, can someone shed some light on that.

A 2nd gen dsm does NOT have 14 pounds of boost. It will spike to 11 on an unmodded and unported T28. Trust me. I am building a 1990 talon tsi along with my 91 rex. The stock boost gauge does not read accurately at all. Also you have to count in boost leaks, bad bearings, bad gaskets, and so on... You don't know how well the car was taken care of. If the car is pushing that much be sure to check all hoses and gaskets for leaks and pressure test all of the pistons, especially the number one. Also carfax it, the second gens have been known to have crankwalk which the fix would have hopefully happened under warranty so it was noted. Lastly, if is modded to make that much boost, you NEED to get rid of the sidemount ic for a front mount or you run the risk of blowing the motor.
