thanks again for all the informative posts about the famed broken lower rear shock bolt. For those that missed it, I broke one over the weekend. The bolts were seized inside the bushing in the LCA. If you don't own a hydraulic press (no one does), this is not a job you can do on your own. Take it from a fool and his recently parted wad of cash.
In an effort to save everyone else this headache and expense, do this:
If you've got an extra 10 minutes this weekend, jack up the rear of your car and remove these 2 bolts. BATHE them in anti-seize, get it at any parts store. Reinstall.
That's all there is to preventing the same thing happening to you. Trust me on this one.

Thats funny, because mine broke about 2 months ago and i had to rig it to work. I guess I did a pretty good job since it hasnt giving me any problems. Wish I learned this before hand though.

amen. i did that to my rear bolts replacing the shocks to GAB's....i totally stripped those mothers. ended removing the shole arm just to get those SOB's off.
If I only had a dollar for every lca bolt that siezed up on me...I'd be rich. Too common of a problem living in a state like IL (salt, snow, salt, rain, salt, salt).
Definitly pack those up with anti-sieze.

that happened to me too. i ended up cutting off the old shock with a grinder. then i took a rotary (rotozip) to hollow out the bushing, thus removing the siezed bolt. after this was done, only the metal sleeve of the bushing was left in the control arm. to take it out, i took a hack saw and sawed out the metal sleeve (being careful not to damage the control arm. then i bought some new bushings from honda and installed them. the first one took a while to do, but the second time went a lot quicker.
it's a pain in the ***, but well worth the money i saved instead of having a shop do it.
