Default fresh built h22 running like a harley. please help

just built my h22 with JE 9:1 pistons and a new valvetrain, w/ stock cams. got the turbo and pipes hooked up and am using the stock p13 just to make sure i have no leaks and/or check engine lights. now it seems like every thing is fine. idles good, no CEL. but it sounds like a harley and it has no response. im driving it in vaccum only but its still very rough with no response. the only CEL i get if for the knock sensor which i dont have hooked up. would this cause this. i dont think so. any ideas would be great. i have untill 7 am before i have to trailer to my tuner. i put a new throttle position sensor on but if i change its position nothing seems to change. any ideas! PLEASE

Knock sensor retards your timing and dumps a whole lot of fuel. Hook up your knock sensor and also check that your timing is right in the belt and in the flywheel.

well, firstly......i hope you aren't expecting it to run smoothly on the stock computer. i think machine4321 may be right about the misfire though. pull out the plug wires one at a time and if the engine doesn't make a different sound when you pull one of them out.....then you're not getting fire to that cylinder. Make sure that the plug wires are in the correct order too. i have a manual that showed me the INCORRECT order and the car would never even start. so if you have two of them out of order that may be your problem. it definitely sounds like there is some sort of firing issue, whether it's a misfire or horrible timing- check to see that the cam gears are still lined up correctly just in case you didn't get it right the first time.

i wouldn't attempt to run the car for more than several minutes though for now.....just in case.

good luck....keep us up to date.
