Bad dizzy or bent valve?
Ok so I went to start my car and it had a weird idle, smelled gasoline coming out of the exhaust, and the motor was shaking. So I checked my plugs, they were fine minus #4 that was wet with gasoline. So I put them back and checked the wires by taking one out at a time and when I pulled #4 the motor didn't change the sound, it was like if that cilinder wasn't working. After this cel 9 came on. Turned off the car, started it up again same stuff happening but no cel 9. Also some smoke is coming from the exhaust and I'm assuming it is from the unburnt fuel. Could this be a dizzy problem related to cel 9 (cylinder position sensor) or would this be signs of a bent valve? Already searched and I'm between these two.
it could be your dizzy, but I would try replacing that plug first and seeing where it goes from there. I doubt it's a bent valve...those don't just bend out of the blue. If you swap the plug out and it's still happening, check your distributor cap and rotor.
first and foremost, replace the plug and check to see if you have spark. if not, then it's probably the wire and/or cap/rotor assembly.

Could be a bad wire or distribution cap. Swap the wires from one of your other cylinders.. be sure to change their firing order on the cap as well.

If this were the case could a cel 9 appear, even if the sensor is fine?
