Default Am i the only one here without rev limiter?

I heard of people with CRX's talking about how their car's have rev limiters. Well i know for a fact that i've taken my car to about 8K (suprized the coil springs didnt go, or the head didnt flood), there is no fuel cutoff or anything, unless its like right at 8K which is still 1500 above the normall redline.

Is it just me or is that normal?

Umm . . . what engine do you have? D16A6? You should have a fuel cut. If you don't, and you continue revving above 7200 RPM on purpose or by accident, you're going to float a valve.

bone stock 200K miles on it

the only reason it ever stoped going is when i stop pressing gas on it

89 Si, located in NY

my friends seen it, and were amazed by it, it just keeps going up at the same rate as it was all the way to 6.5 keeps going to 8, getting louder and more vibration, so the tach isnt off, its dead on, while on the road too, +/- 1mph at 80mph im at 4K even

i'm myself suprized i float a valve

running with no rev limiter is not smart the only way you should run a ecu with no revlimit is if you have a msd with a ignition cut off, because the stock rev limiter is a fuel cut off, this way if you have really high compresion or are turblowed and you miss a shift you wont detonate... msd also has a launch control so thats kinda cool too

i would switch it with another pm6 and see what happenes

its a shame you cant see the pictures anymore.. but you could probably get the same effect by buying some gun powder, pouring it down your sparkplug hole and then put the sparkplug back in and crank the engine.

cliffs notes: rev limiters are there to keep you from blowing your **** up. you should look into getting one, or just never rev your car to 8000rpm. unless you have lots of money. this concludes my public service message for the day.
