Default B16 + Stuck gas pedal + no Rev Limiter = Awesome!

Drained the "oil" from the pan a lot of coolant came out first bad sign #1

Pulled the valve cover 2nd sign

Pulled all the plugs found this on the #4 cyl

Removed the cams etc notice one of the springs is just sitting there

Pulled the head

I was at the track on sunday and was racing a buddy when i crossed the finish i let out of it but the gas pedal was stuck reving to who knows much. I see a **** load of smoke swirling in my rear view mirror the first words that came out of my mouth was "****!!!!!!" I had to reach down grab my gas pedal and pull it off the floor it was sticking to the flooring material foam ****. I should have just turned off my car or left it in gear but it happened so fast and nothing like that had ever happened to me . It sucks that something so gay as pedal covers and not checking a little box to set a rev limit could cause all this. (I didnt chip it by the way i bought it that way) I was planning on doing a obd1 conversion anyways.

I knew I should have taken those "racing" pedals off when I bought the car just never really thought about it. Also people who chip without revlimiters I wish I could have ran it on a stock map but pre obd dont have jumpers

That was some bad *** ****. I was in my friends coup racing Denny. after the line I had him by a nose, I let out of it and he went smoking by literally smoking. Just thought it was a head gasket at first but turned out to me a lot more than that.

Damn man, that must suck to have your motor go all because of something so dumb like that. I wish you the best of luck, and be happy - you have a reason to build a much better setup now!

One example why the rev limiter is very important.

Too bad for happening like that. I hope you can pull yourself up and get a new engine.
