Default Weird wiring problem, you gotta hear it to believe it.

ok, so i have a 90 acura integra. B16 turbo. converted to OBD1 with a chipped/converted P06. now my problem....

the right headlight is dim, both filaments in the bulb (H4H) light up when the low beams are on and dont change when the high beams are on, just both filaments, very dim. its not the bulb, i swapped to a known good one and nothing changed. i have JDM headlights and everything worked fine before i installed the turbo kit/converted to obd1.

now, the wipers are involved with this too. the intermitent wipers dont work, they work like the second click on the stalk does, slow constant sweep, but thats no big deal to me. now, when i just tap the wiper stalk down, so the wipers will do one sweep, they dont do the full sweep, the stop wherever i let off the stalk on the windshield. BUT sometimes the headlight will work fine, like after driving for 20-30 mins on the highway, the headlight will get bright, the high beam works AND the wipers cancel. does anyone have ANY idea what my problem could be??

damn thats weird. my only idea is that you might have wired something using one of the power wires for your headlights or wipers that is causing it to act strange.

either that, or your alternator might be taking a **** - the dim headlights are usually a sign of that.

those are my 2 best ideas of what it could be, sorry i cant help more.

thanks for at leas trying. but its only ONE headlight, and it doesnt do it all the time. like today, ive been out ******* with them and they work fine. i wasnt anywhere near the headlights when i converted to obd1, and when i 1st had the car running obd1, the headlights worked just fine.

and by DIM i mean almost not working, but on enough that i havent been pulled over for it yet. i have no frigging clue now

WOW serious problem check the wiring diagram for your model you can pick up the manua at any dealer check to see if the headlight and wiper wiring are connected tot he same circuit or fuse. if this is it then u know something is wrong with your wiring you can be have a cut line touching ground sometimes giving only some functions of your siper or headlights check it out buyt he manual and look at it couldnt harm waiting a couple of bucks and doing it yourself

yea...something maybe "crossed" or pinched. Though....honestly I have no clue. Have you tried a multimeter to see if there's a short in the system or something?

well it worked fine yesterday and last night. i was thinking that the wires would have to be crossed somewhere. im gonna go outside and f uck with it now, my heat stopped working last night too, and its like 6 degrees out, so that has become 1st priority

Almost positive with your headlights that you dont have a good ground. Try cutting the black wire to the headlight and ground it good.

well listen to this, i had checked over all the ground before. (VC, Battery, Tranny, thermaostat) and everything looked great. yesterday i got to recheck the VC ground and and i see that its loose. turns out the 10mm bolt was stripped in the VC. i moved it over to another nut on the VC and everything seems to be working perfectly now. could it really have been that simple?
