yes, turbonetics/fmax makes a turbo for 98-02 accords for about 4000 dollars, give or take.
but you can probably assemble your own turbo kit for about 1000 dollars. i know some dudes on honda-acura.net that have.

4spd to 5 spd would require a transmission swap.

there's nothing wrong with an auto.
be proud.

if you're going to turbo the auto its not going to hold up for very long.

look into beefing up the auto... or doing the auto->manual swap.

No one makes the parts that actually need to be beefed up in an automatic.

Most people have little luck with turbo'ing automatic Hondas. However, there are some people who have had no problems with as little as a large tranny cooler.

If you're going to do it, set aside enough money for a new tranny or 5-spd swap. You know... Just in case.

u know i thought about what u said and i figured that going NA wouldnt be that bad..it might have some ups and downs but at least it might save me quite a bit of money.. i mean im not going to modify anything on the car but just being prepared for future references..

i know im still a noob at this.. just started to get into fixing car.. but NA machines wouldnt need a swap right??.. it should be good with auto?.. thanks

there are tranny shops like level10 that can beef up auto trannies but it'llcost more than doing manual conversion. if you looked before posting there is a sticky about the manual conversion for 6th gens.

DR evil sells a 4sp auto for the V6 that will cost you 4K and hold up to 500 HP reliably.

Autos are better able to handle smooth power delivery of a blower/ supercharger versus the sudden power jolt from a turbo.

Since the 5spd auto will not work, your only choice is go stick to get 5 speeds

I turbo charged my 2001 automatic and it's been great for over two years now. I'm currently building the motor and doing a manual swap for more power. If you keep it around the 200hp area the tranny should be fine with a large cooler.

I was referring more specifically to the valvebodies. I'm not aware of anyone that upgrades them...

stinker504 is actually the reason I ever considered turbo'ing my car ('99 Accord) while retaining the auto. I have since decided against it for other reasons...

But I did have a question for stinker504... I know that you had your car tuned, and since you're automatic, that rules out using the AEM EMS, and I'm assuming Hondata as well... so, are you using E-Manage for tuning? If so, how do you like it? I've heard mixed reviews...
