Default not an accord question, but maybe

okay, kia sephia, i believe 2001 or 2002

the handbrake light stays on

my friend said before when she used to make a hard left it used to come on sometiems, but now its on permanently.

what could it mean? and how to fix it?

replace your e-brake cable. it's most likely frozen.

woudl this be the whole wire from teh handbrake straight to whereever the hell it goes to teh brakes?

or just like the handbrake portion of it

Kia' not shy about copying Honda practices so check the Master Cylinder Brake fluid level. It should have a level warning sensor (If it's any kind of car) on the fluid reservoir cap which sends a signal when the level drops.

Which is actually quite surprising since there's been no great love lost between both the Koreans and the Japanese since that silly WW2 thing. Maybe time does heal all wounds? Perhaps they've co-operated for a common purpose; Kicking A..s in Detroit!
