installing tachometer w/shift lite
ok I got to the signal wire, or tach wire, whatever, ok now how do I get the red to the power? can I connect to the fuse box? how can I do that? can I hook up the wire and connect to the fuse amp? is that how it is done?
can I just wrap the wire around the fuse amp and plug it back into the fuse?

Well, i can assume red is power - black is ground.........green is probably a signal wire from somewhere. Did it not come with directions?
What model is it? - go to the website to see if they have a pdf or something.

when i put my shift light in i only had 3 wires.. (ground, power, singnel ) i just ran the wires threw that thing that looks liek a speaker on the dash (it clips right in and out) down to the fuse box and pluged it ito liek the sunroof or something( anythign that always has power) and the ran the groudn wire to a screw on the side of the dash ( when the door is open )(theres 2) and then took the singnel wire to the idel sensor witch on my car was a few wires at a connecter right near the head andi jusy jamed it in there and hey it works.. but why dontsnt ur friend ask his firend how he had it hooked up.. like i said.. mine only had 3 wires .. hope that was some help?

well its from autometer, and I have tried looking at the site, but nothing in spacific for a 4th gen lude. Is there any difference at all? between the cars? all I know is that its a for a four cylinder engine.

well, i would assume that they have all the wires the same - seeing that all tachs are basically the same.
HAHAHA! I'm watching MTV, they have a little exercise thing for women thats supposed to raise their bust line. This **** is funny. Its a damn pole with a spring inside. Sorry - ah! And it costs $60.00. Wow....

yeah id say the same thing.. you just need to find were to plug it in on his prelude.. if its a f22 prelude i can go out and look and tell you exectly where mine is pluged in at.. if its h22 or h23 im not sure exectly where it would go.. but you can hook up the ground and power wire liek i said in my last post

ok. then its easy follow one of the wires form the distrubitor and it will go to the behind the head to the left.. there is to connectors.. its the one that u follwoed the wire to... punplug it.. the side in ur left hand is where u put the singnal wire in.. put the wire into the bottem right hole (as ur looking at it .. (your right)) and pulg it back in.. and there you go it should be working

is this all in the area where the speaker thing is?

ok well I have Connected everything, and I can't find where to get the wire (signal) through the fire wall. do I have to drill a hole? where is the area where I can lead the wire through and get it close to the speaker thing that pops out?
for a hole in the firewall, use the hole where the cruise control cable comes through. and you i suppose the speaker thing you're all talking about is the tweeter cover. take that off and you just thread the wires down through the small holes in there. i taped all the wires to a piece of a clothes hanger to get them through. oh and btw, i have my CC removed so i'm not sure if you'll be able to use that hole in the firewall easily.

how did you get the wire throgh the fire wall???
how did you get the wire throgh the fire wall???
there are plenty of holes you can run a wire through, just look from the engine side and use a hanger to get the wire through....
a simpler way to hook it up is to just splice into the tach wire down at the ecu.....

I havn't installed one of those tachometers before but can't you connect the "signal wire" to the "tachometer wire" from the gauge cluster? The tachometer wire in a 4th gen prelude is a blue wire with silver spots and is located on one of the connectors that attaches to the gauge cluster.
