jerky shifting
hey, i have a 96 LS 5 speed. For the past two months whenever i depress the clutch completely and shift, it doesnt shift smooth. Like say 3rd gear is when the shifter is angled at +20 degrees, and its in 4th when the shifter is angled at -20 degrees. As im passing over the 0 degree mark the shifter feels like it jams for a second. It does the for all the gears.
My clutch doesnt slip. any ideas? car has 140k on it.

Put the car in first gear on the level with the clutch depressed. Does it creep at all? If it does, your clutch may not be disengaging 100% and could be near the end of its life.
Also, when is the last time you replaced the transmission fluid?

good idea on the creep thing. I tried it and it passed. I could even lift the pedal a good 2 inches before any creeping. I havent changed the tranny fluid since i bought it 6 months ago. Ill get to that sometime this week, hopefully it fixes it. Thanks for the help
I just got finished changing the transmission fluid, drove it around and it hardley helped. Ill give it some time to work in there, maybe it will improve over a day or two, but in the mean time, any other ideas? Could it have something to do with the clutch pressure plate? It could be me, but for the past couple of days it seems really easy to push the clutch down. i dont even know if thats what the pressure plate does or what a pplate is, but any ideas are appreciated.
