honda crx b16a swap. question on axles
i've been told a few times before by people that axles are not needed for the b16 swap, but i just heard recently from an owner of a honda salvage yard that the 90-93 integra axles are required for the swap. true? anyone know what a b16a1 91 dx crx will run in a quarter mile stock at around 1500 feet elevation? i know that at 5,000 feet in new mexico they run 15.1-15.3 with intake, exhaust.
You need a custom axle made for the driver side or just get a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft and run 90-93 integra axle..On the passenger side you can use just about any b-series axle..

when does it tend to brake? How low is your car? Do you often hit bumps hard? How high do you rev your car when launching?

I think it might be from the Torque. Are you being these axels from the yard? You might want to just go buy a nice poly-metal axle.
I used the Gs-R Axle setup. It's an intermediate shaft combo, That bolts to the back of the block with one bracket, and then the normal tranny hookup. And the passenger side is one shaft. It keeps that pull on launching down...I lay some straight lines....

it broke when i full lock the wheel. my car is bout 10cm of the gound with body kit. i havnt really launch my car. its just normal driving. i used the Gsr axle and that keeps breaking twice. any other clue? to fix that prob
it all depends what midshaft (intermediate shaft) you are using.. i have a 90-93 DA integra midshaft and im using DA axles on both sides never had a problem just remember to pop that dustring out from the inside the crx knuckles.. you can also swap the knuckles from a DA therefore you dont have to remove that dustring bc its made for B series axles.. but then you just have to worry bout alignment because the DA knuckles are taller compared to crx's... hope this helps good luck
