Need Help: D-series Cable Tranny Experts Needed
hey guys,
i've got an '88 Si tranny thats been in pieces for a year, but its pretty much in good shape for the most part. the case on the other hand has some issues. Any how i'd really like to get Si gearing into my crx because i swapped a d15b7 3 months back but have been still using my HF tranny making the swap almost pointless and now my throw out bearing is going bad. my question i believe the differential bearings on the Si diff are bigger than the HF ones so can i swap the Si ring gear onto the HF diff and how possible would it be to just swap the Mainshaft/countershaft assembly from the Si tranny directly into my Hf tranny, are the bearings on the shafts the same size i know about the spline count difference on the main shaft, but are the shafts different diameters? if i can not do this i need to use my SI tranny case which needs a speedo gear and sensor, shift fork and shift fork rod. could i take these parts from my HF tranny and put them in the Si case to make it work? sorry if this is hard to follow but i'd really like to get this done, the i want to put a stick of dynamite in my Hf tranny cause it sucks fat ***.
thanx

thats not what i wanted to do, i wanted to put the Si ring gear on HF differential and put the Si main/counter shafts into the HF case. the reason i can't just put the SI diff into the HF case is the Si diff bearings are bigger. MY question was will the SI shafts fit no problem into the HF case.
your first post is really hard to read. its a lot of babble quite frankly.

yes, it all fits. just keep the final drive and counter shaft together.
