Default b16a2 idle problem

I have a b16a2 in a 94 hatch my idle speed idles erraticly between 1 n 2 thousand rpm's. I have no check engine light on but if I let out the clutch alil bit sometimes it goes where it should idle but if I hit the gas rt back to the crazy idleing can anyone shed some light for me?

I am having similar issues and recently found that I have a small leak in my head gasket. Hoses seem fine. I jsutfound that the TPS sensors is near impossible to get from a store and Honda wants me to by the thing with the throttlebody attached to it ($680)... sad.

I dont think its from the headgasket cause it would do it all the time and when I first start the car up in the morning it idles fine untill I hit the gas and then it begins but most of the time I can let out the clutch to drop the rpm and then it idles fine.Anybody else? The timing isnt rt on either could that b the problem? My new distributor is on order.

Have you calibarated your TPS? If it's finf get throttle body cleaner and that should do the trick!

try joe from locash racing, he usually has them in stock and it's a little cheaper. Here's the link to his online store.

Possibly a stuck open thermostat. My B16 jumps alittle and never really warms up all the way in the winter time, just too lazy to fix it lol

here this will help u noobs...most b16a's have a throtle body with coolent controlled idle air valve...well they are known to come out of adjustment soooo..if your is having this prob...look where the tps sensor is and just under it there will be the valve (its attached under the throttle body)anyways the side where the tps sensor screws in ...just under it there will be two 8mm bolt/screws it has a 8mm head and a phillps screw head ...take the screws out and take the plate off, when u get it off there should be a white plastic piece that came unscrewed..simply screw it bck in ..and not too tight cause its plastic..but b4 u do that ..what i do is wrap it with a little bit of teflon tape so it wont vibrate again...or lock tite.....put it back together and thank me later... have fun...

adjust the TPS. There r 2 screws on the TPS (throttle position sensor) loosen the two screws and turn the TPS untill the car idles rt and c if that fixes the problem.

you shouldn't move the TPS without a multimeter to check the voltage IMO

</TD></TR></TABLE> this is correct but my idle was goin crazy and I just turned the screws and turned it till it quit. Maybe I got lucky. Anyways with a voltmeter u should have approximately .5 volts with car off (throttle closed) if not loosen screws and turn untill u do. Once u get it around .5 slowly move the throttle to full throttle and it should increase to approximately 4.5 volts. In the manual it says if the readings r incorrect change sensor (try to adjust TPS before u do that)

I changed the whole throttle body and tps....motor ran fine until I did a rdh conversion. Don't think mine is a part in need of replacement.
