Warped Flange... crush gasket?
I made my own downpipe.. and when i welded the flange the ears warped upwards a bit.. now it seems the center section is still flat.. and it should seal.
But its a pain to get everything together (parts are all a tight fit.. no space)
Now.. I have a decent belt sander, should i try to smooth it out with that? Or do they make such thing as a crush gasket.. someting a little thicker that will help it seal?
Thanks

Try the belt sander, itl probably do it. If not, try to find some "dead soft aluminum gaskets". They are really thick and super soft to conform to even the worst gaps! GOOD LUCK!

take it down to the local machine shop and get it chopped true, dont half *** something that you dont want to do twice, do it once correctly and thats it. If you have a piston ring machine shop locally they would be able to do it for ya.
