Okay I got the CEL 9 and changed the distributor thinking it was the sensor, the light went away then 2 days later it came back on same code and all! Any Ideas?

 

what is the "cylinder sensor"? as far as i know the only sensor in the distributor is the TDC sensor. maybe the knock sensor? can anybody help this guy out and know what the cylinder sensor is?

 

its the CYP sensor. Its located inside the dizzy housing. You need to replace the dizzy housing with a known good one or replace the entire distributor.

 

I did replace the distributor and it went away then came back.

 

I have this same problem. Car "sputters" at idle and engine vibrates, it is throwing fuel through the exhaust, and smells like unburnt fuel. Could this be all distributor related or a bent valve problem, or maybe both??

If somebody can help us
