I need a replacment for JDM SIRII (EG6) caliper replacment. What USDM caliper will work?

 

Isnt that the same bakes as the si?

I don't think so. I think I had to use brake pads of a del sol (don't remember which one, possibly 97). I tried SI, GSR, LS, and other pads. Only one worked. The thing is that I need to get a caliper, but I don't know which one to get.

 

Wow really? Hmm.... always thought it was the same. If something is wrong with the caliper you know you could get it rebuilt right? In a situation like this thats probably what i would do. Food for thought.

 

that caliper is fucked. In needs to be honed. There is no way you can fix it without spending some serious dough. I would be cheaper just to change brakets and run GSR calipers.

Only people that rebuild calipers these days are the old school muscle car guys that try to keep the car original.

 

what size rotors? if u have the 10.3" rotors upfront then that would be similar to any DC(except typeR)brake caliper or any 92-00 civic EX/Si caliper.

if u have the 11.1 inch rotors then that would be typeR calipers that can go over it.
what does the numbers on your calipers say? 17CL14VN are GSR/EX/Si ones. the ITRs have 17CL15VN with the 23T bracket

 

the SIR has the same calipers as the 94-95 Civic EX with ABS.....or 96-97 Del Sol VTEC

yeah thanks alot man. I thought that they were of a del sol vtec 96-97 because that's the pads that I used, but I wasn't sure if the calipers would bolt up to those brakets. I would have to special order those, and if I was wrong I would be fucked again.

they are actually the same dimensionally as the GSR calipers but there is a small tab that gets int he way of installing GSR pads
