Default Swollen coolant hose=bad thermo?

My coolant hose is swollen right where it goes into the thermostat housing and I can see a small drip from under the housing. Also the fans havent been turning on so I am beggining to think the thermostat is stuck shut....any other input? This is on a 91 SI

bulging hose = bad hose, which would be able to leak like that

fans not turning on could be a bad relay or switch or whatever the 3g ludes have....

the hose doesnt feel bad though, it isnt all soft and stuff. fans finally work though for some odd reason.

I tried swapping the headlights to see if it was the light itself and its not, my dad said its probably the ground wire......now to find that wire

last time i saw a swollen hose, which was on a bend from the rear water neck, I lost $12 worth antifreeze, got one hot *** motor, and a scare from hell. just change the hose.

The hoses will deform over time. They're rubber and will do that.

That being said, if it's bulging pretty bad right around the clamps, replace them. If you're too cheap to replace them, wrap the entire sucker in duct tape. It WILL seal it and keep it from blowing for a good long time, and will add a nice space-age shine to your engine bay!
