DX gear ratios are all the same as the Si ratios, with exception of the final drive.

I have a 1990 crx 1.6 si and im at about 3,200 rpm at 80. It doesn't have a whole bunch of torque but just enough so i dont slow down going up small interstate inclines. 4k rpm sounds high to me. My mods are k&n air filter Strait pipe ,Exaust,
My weighs a ton to. I have atleast a 100lb sound system. Try taking out your cat.... it helped tons in mine

you must have a dx tranny if you are cruising at ~3200 rpm at 80 mph..
here.. http://crx.honda-perf.org/math/index.html
make sure you select the final drive.. cause that makes all the difference
