Oil spraying everywhere in my bay. Could bad PCV valve be cause?
Ok well a little less than a month ago, I did a valvetrain job and a headgasket job. The head leaks slightly by the tranny side, some on the timing belt side and when we put the cams in, we didn't put any glue/silicone on the cam/main seals (on the cam gear side) because it kept on leaking from before so we thought maybe no glue = no leak. I guess that was a bad idea, since now its basically spraying everywhere. I also noticed that theres oil leaking out of the oil cap too for some reason.
So I have 3 questions:
1) Would a not "securely sealed" cam/main seal cause oil to spray all over the underside of my hood or could the leak on the head cause that too?
2) Would a bad PCV valve cause oil to leak out of my oil cap (even though I tightened it a lot) or even at the head?
3) OT: Does it matter if the PCV valve isn't mounted onto the IM (I have a AEBS IM and the runners are "webbed" together so I had to rig it through the back and the valve is just hanging)
BTW its a B16

1. Cam seals are known to crack and break over the years causing leaks. If you take off the cam cap i would replace the cam seal. Also this could be your Distributor O ring. Pics would help as well.
2. No, a crack will cause a bad leak. EVen if you had a good PCV system (catchcan, etc) and had a crack it will still leak.
3. If theres no vaccum theres no PCV.

I guess I'll try my old seals since they never leaked. I don't have pics now, but like the oil is only on the drivers side, but like EVERYWHERE. Distributor side is all dry.
I guess I need a new oil cap.
Ok so if the PCV valve isn't "vertical" the way its suppose to be in the stock location, it won't function? I mean its all connected. I rigged it so it goes from the box - hose - PCV valve (not vertical but horizontal since its not mounted on the IM) - hose - to back of IM. I'll try to draw a MSpaint pic lol

Ok so the valve is just hanging there instead of being inside the box? Is there vacuum to it.
Also if its the driver side thats leaking (i thought it was the pas. side) then its more then likely those little rubber spots. Just go to honda and explain it to them.

Well, everything that was on the stock setup is there (I think). Ok like in this pic:

# 6 and #4 are still together and in the correct order, but its just not positioned like in the picture. Like how the hose/valve comes up then across, its more like it goes across then up. I'm just wondering if that matters at all

See how like in this pic (stock B16 manifold) theres that hole between the runners. Its not like that anymore, so I was just wondering if that matters functioning wise
Oh i get what your saying, as long as your running the lines correctly it doesnt really matter how the valves sit. Just as long as there not upside down. But try to make them up and down as possible for better circulation.

No catch can anywhere. Regular PCV setup and just a hose from the valve cover to intake.

Ok I guess I'll try to get long hoses to make it sit straight.
The oil spray is getting worse though. I just drove from my house to school (30miles) and looked at the front of my car, theres oil dripping down my bumper (running down the hood towards front of car).
It never used to be this bad. Usually I would clean the mess up and maybe about 4 days later it would be a mess, but I cleaned it all up last night and now its a mess again. AAARRRRGGGG.
I was messing around with the valve cover / gasket last night so I should probably inspect that too.
